This is kind of odd...
Just before I left work today, I noticed this strange anomaly in Word, but for some reason it's only in my individual files folder on the shared drive, not any of the case files.

(The quality's not that good because it's a BMP, but as you can see, some of the filenames are appearing in blue, for no apparent reason...
All of the files (except about one) in that folder are hidden files, and there's nothing untoward in the properties either.
WEIRD.
In other news, I came home to (a) a leaky binbag dripping fat inside my bin (yeuch) and (b) a surprise through the letter box in the form of Nightmare Revisited (from my mum), a version of the NBC soundtrack with the songs performed by different metal artists, as the Current Music testifies. It's very very strange indeed, but also interesting...
I also saw the perfect present for Paul's birthday but I'm going to look online for cheaper options because it was a rip-off in M&S. I was in there getting a curry for tea, before you ask. ;)

Same goes for those files in my Personal folder which I haven't accessed in months...

And, heh, how did I know you'd request a screencap? ;) OHAIBLOO!!!

I did have my work PC set up as Win 98 style (they gave us all new machines recently and you can actually change the screensavers and colours for once, har har) but then got confused because my work PC has never looked like that and it just looked wrong. I need a very specific difference between home and work PCs, for obvious reasons. ;)

HEH. I immediately switched to 98/Classic mode at the very first opportunity with all my old computers, as well - Vista is the first version of Windows I've had and instantly liked to the point of never bothering with the switchover. For that, I blame the shiny... but I can't say I ever had the problem with different PCs having the same basic layout - the ones at the Museum are XP to my Vista, so it's not an issue... but I've always been painfully specific on colour co-ordinating my personal computer (I'm one of those horrible people who spend HOURS making sure every taskbar, window, button &c &c, not to mention Trillian and Winamp all match my desktop wallpaper), and that in itself is usually more than enough of a specific difference from... well, every other computer on the planet, really.

I dunno, I think my work PC just has to be simple. We have a specific desktop background which has our PC information on it in case we need to ring the helpdesk, and it's not worth trying to colour coordinate everything, really.
I did spend ages trying to turn WMP an interesting colour, though. :)

That does make sense, the specific work-related desktop... albeit a boring kind of sense... and the WMP thing amuses me. I cannot even tell you how happy I was when I discovered my current WinAmp skin; it has fifty different pre-set colour themes, and I have yet to find a desktop wallpaper, however elaborate, that I can't find a perfect match for.
...yes, it is the Very Simple Things that keep me entertained...
