Not perfect, however...

I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] thefleshfailure will be delighted to know that I've swapped back to my old Moulin Rouge!/Satine-based layout for a while.  I'd forgotten how annoyingly small the entry-area was, though.

Anyway.  Uhm.  Now I just have to figure out why my userpics appear to have been hacked, or if it's just LJ being all screwy...

The reason for this change is because a) with the onset of the new series of Most Haunted, the Derek/Yvvy MHOTP! layout is going to be detrimental to my sanity and b) this is a temporary measure until I can make either a Priscilla Anthony/Adam-based layout or something else if not.  So make the most of it, Eni, because it won't be here for long. :)

And now I'm going to bed. I keep continually forgetting that a layout change is never just a layout change when you're messing with styles...  Bah.

i love that layout.

:) I remember you friended me when I had it, too.

I need more Nicole icons, I think... must go on a capping rampage once I've finished grabbing caps of Most Haunted. :)

Brad posted in [livejournal.com profile] lj_maintenance that he was going to do something that would break userpics for a while, I think.

Aha. I figured as much.

Actually, I think I remember that. Temporary brain-loss.

Squee!!!

I'm not rightly sure what I'm happier about - the return to the MR theme, or the looming hope of an Adam/Anthony theme.

[identity profile] teylaminh.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
If you like it that much, I did say you could use it... :)

[identity profile] thefleshfailure.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww... yea, I know. But my LJ is in a constant state of flux between paid and free, so I try and avoid layoutising it too much, and my DJ themes are mostly dependant on me finding fifty icons to represent it... and, so far, I've only found about 18 MR icons, none of which fit my standard-issue DJ keywords. Besides which, I still have the screencap you sent me before you got rid of it the first time. :P

.........yeah, there comes a point when I'm explaining things, where you really have to leap in before I start and say "look, it was rhetorical."

[identity profile] teylaminh.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I think, aside from the customised links, it's probably free-journal friendly anyway. And, wow, I did send you a screencap. I think I've still got it, come to think of it...

Plus, y'know, leaping in? Kinda hard to do in a comment. :)

[identity profile] thefleshfailure.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
It is? Emphatically did not know that. I guess I just assumed that on LJ everything customisewise was paid-only. Silly me.

And, yea... but then you get the benefits of rising to a seemingly impossible challenge and coming out victorious when you figure out a way of doing it.

[identity profile] teylaminh.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm, it's all done in the overrides - you can set the left-hand margin in the same place you set the font. The only thing I do with the styles is the cursor-change, making sure the links don't default to Verdana using the Generator base, changing the top links, and making all the page backgrounds clear (like behind friends' icons.) Other than that, it's all overrides. :)

Like not getting into another tennis when I've once again abandoned the other one? ;)

[identity profile] thefleshfailure.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Bah. I'm sure there was a time when all that would've made perfect sense to me... apparently, I'm far too out of practise with S1. I'll have to experiment with this when I'm awake...

*innocuous whistle* Yeah. Exactly like that. Though, seriously, just think how impressive "can play multiple games of tennis at the same time" will look on a CV.

[identity profile] teylaminh.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
If I could be bothered to learn how the S2 thingies work I'd experiment with customising that,too... but frankly, I've only just mastered the CSS and tables they use in S1.

Normally I can play multiple games (as the double-DJ-and-one-LJ-at-once demonstrated), but apparently not today...

[identity profile] thefleshfailure.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Yea, the S2 takes a lot of time to figure out. I only very recently learned that you can do stuff other than the stuff in the "check this box" section. But it's fun to play around with... albeit, most of the overrides make a helluva lot less sense than the S1 ones.

Well, even Agassi gets off his game sometimes. Anyway, the swircle's like Wimbledon - always there, but sometimes it gets delayed on account of rain.
