okay. i saw "beauty and the beast" tonight and a full lowdown/rant/ramble/etc will be here tomorrow or whenever i can be bothered... in short, it was good, very very like the disney film, good sets, good makeup/costumes, but rather like a pantomime. and the beast was frighteningly camp...

okay, so, much as i like the sunset boulevard theme, i feel like a change of scene, so a new layout/colour scheme will be emerging soon, possibly vaguely parisian (but not moulin rouge)

anyway.

today i got dragged to bourton-on-the-water (it's a little village in the cotswolds, near evesham, sorta south of chipping camden if anyone knows that...) with my father and grandmother on a 'day trip'. we'd originally planned to go to stonehenge, but, since "that's all there is there" (i really, highly doubt this. it's a major tourist attraction, for frell's sake, there's got to be something else...) they finally got me to b-o-t-w. my gran is obsessed with the damn place because it has a model village and she's been pestering me about it for the past 3 frelling years. maybe she'll shut up about it now, but it's unlikely.

anyway, i was functioning on about 4 hours sleep, and i was mildly irritated that we weren't going to stonehenge (i suspect this is because it was too far away) and if i'd known sooner i would have suggested warwick castle or somewhere equally interesting and haunted. but then again, i really couldn't be bothered to argue, so b-o-t-w it was.

well, it was pleasant. and at least the weather stayed relatively nice until about 5 o'clock when we got caught in a thunderstorm that followed us home. (forked lightning over the hills! whee!) and the model village, disturbingly, contains a model of the model village containing another model of the model village... someone has too much time on their hands, i feel. there was also a maze, which we got hopelessly lost in for about half an hour until we found the one path we hadn't tried yet. they're really that much more difficult in real life...

but other than that it wasn't particularly amazing. however, the buffy muses were in full chattering mode today (beginning to think they're spike and... possibly giles. meep. spike doesn't surprise me, to be honest. i've had "rest in peace" in my head all bloody morning...) and kept throwing random ideas at me. i now have the full blown angsty penultimate/fight scene of the fic all sorted out and i can't wait to write it :D

and my mother has just run out in a mad dash to meet a man she met online and readily admits that she's crazy... and i'm worried as hell. :-/
