well, my essay is called "contemporary conjurors: magic and mass hysteria" (which i thought was rather clever :P) and i'm looking at how/why people react the way they do to people like david blaine, david copperfield, houdini, and, um, jesus. from my athiest viewpoint, in reference to the miracles... (i'm gonna get raised eyebrows for that one...)
but none of that is very literary, so i'm hurling in HP (magic, large appeal, mass hysteria when a new one is released...) and 'jonathan creek' (it has a magician in it; the specific episode i'm referencing had his career in jeopardy because of a scandallous court case, which in turn led to international stardom... people are so fickle.)
so, yeah. all good fun... *eyebrow*
my coherent order runs something like: intro, theory, jesus, houdini, copperfield&blaine, JC, HP, how they all relate. and that's pretty much literally what my plan says, too. :)
