teylaminh: (Cabaret - Maybe This Time)

In other news, I'm buying this quite shortly.

I know, I only just got a new phone.  But I spotted that on on Thursday whilst out phone-shopping with Paul and instantly started drooling.  It's quite unashamedly girly, but I don't care.

My mum wants a Lobster (my current phone), and after the fiasco when I returned from Uni when we both had the same Nokia 3510i, especially given my transitory preference for the subLCD picture, it was confusion waiting to happen.

So, I'm selling the Lobster to my mother for £45 + me-cooking-a-meal (I  bought it for £70, which included £20 of airtime...) which will pay for roughly half of the pretty new Siemens.

For this, I blame the vodka entirely.  Don't ask.

Every so often I see a cool feature on a newer mobile (mine's a good old 3310) and get tempted, but then I remember that it took me about two years to get the hang of this one. :D

I just saw it in the shop and went "Woooooow"... the Lobster has a ridiculously short battery life, too, so I'll just let my mother contend with that instead. ;)

I had a 3210 for ages; I think that was actually my favourite phone, despite its caveman-like qualities. It had the coolest Angel cover, too, with a little slidey thing on it, and I could text at the speed of light. :D

Hmmm... the way my phone keeps blinking out despite having been charged up, possibly the battery has reached the end of its natural life, and I'll just have to buy a new one. Am inordinately tempted by one with a slidey cover, actually...

Btw, did the CD ever arrive? It must be two or three weeks since I posted it.

Paul's has a slidey cover; they are very sexy little phones, I have to say. I prefer the flip-top/clamshell ones myself. :)

Oh, yes, it did! Thank you!

I keep meaning to do an entry about that, but I really like it, especially the Rufus Wainwright track. :)

Ah, that's good to hear. :) I think he's fabulous and scarily talented; that track especially brings out his sense of showmanship.

teh 3210!!!!
i loved them to death! i problee went thru about 5! lost em to stairs, a toilet (yes, thats 2 phone-in-lav scenarios i've had - the 3210 was the..the worst...thats all i'm sayin) and to bein drunk. even involved one in some minor fraud as well

they were classic - THAT with a vibrate is ALL you need, they had no aerial, they weren't too big (they were small to start with lol)

my moms into texting now!! the times we live in........ :)

Heh, it was the first phone I had that I actually wanted... my first ever mobile was my ex's old one and I don't even remember what it was, except that it was a brick...

I loved that you could create your own tones. :D I miss that on modern phones. Forget downloads, there's nothing quite like the satisfaction of creating a tinny version of your favourite song. :D

damn straight!

i put the tetris themetune in form scratch, and also did a much better version of Daft Punk - Da Funk than the one on the web

i guess like realtones are a good idea, but i paid for about 6 mad capsule markets realtones and got sent zero, to a real good phone too, that i have since lost to the drunken-toilet syndrome i seem to have

and SNAKE! oh, wow - oh, geez, what a perfect little game! i could go on for hours - i had all these hidden snake laws that i'd pretend would govern gameplay, like the gravity lol, and "Hungry Snake". Oh, and "Fat Snake" too. it was just plain shit on rubber buttons tho, so i never ever kept rubber buttons in, no matter what cover.

and you could get like a ga-zillion covers! there's problee about seventeen ga-jillion poor quality nokia phone covers in a hole in the desert somewhere lol

SNAKE! That pwned all the new-fangled Java games, definitely. I know what you mean about the rubber buttons, they were rubbish; I think I kept my old silver-effect ones for ages even when they didn't exactly fit the covers and were slightly receded...

And the generic non-Nokia-built covers never quite fit properly, either...

"Designed by an all women team for the feminine market, the CL75 is a cute clamshell in a floral design. One touch of a dedicated button transforms the screen into a handy mirror"
Bwah!!! Girly doesn't *begin* to describe it.

I didn't know about the mirror function when I saw it in the shop... :P
