Kiwi posted this one on Facebook. It literally had me in hysterics...

And this is a strange talking cat. A lot of the 'talking cat' videos on YouTube are just cats meowing in a vaguely 'conversational' fashion, but this is just plain weird...

The blurb from whoever posted it reads:

My cat can say hello, she only does it when shes looking for you though once you call her or she sees you she'll stop so I had to set the camera up and leave it for awhile until she did it.
She does this at least 10 times a day shes does it in the morning when she wants us to get up, in the night when shes bored and wants us to get up and when shes finished eating and want to know what room were in (which is what shes doing in this video hence the lip licking, shes cleaning them).
Its nothing to do with hairballs as she never coughs up a hairball after doing it
Its not because shes in heat she was spayed around 14 years ago, shes 16.

Heres what I think its sounds like shes saying:
"Hello, Hello, Hello, I Know Hello, Hello Hello Hello. Hello. I'm Alone, I'm on my own, I'm Alone, I know hello."

When my mum and I had Paws, there were a couple of occasions when he was heard to say "Mummy". He only did it twice that I can remember, and both times were on the way back from the vet or the kennels, whilst he was in the travel cage. I don't mean it was a meow that sounded like the word, it was the actual word.

And someone else heard it, too. We had someone else pick him up once and afterwards, she said... "Er... this will sound crazy, but... does he usually talk?"

Paws would only say "Mummy" if he was frightened, presumably because he'd heard me saying it as a kid when I needed something.

He also used to say "no", but I think most cats manage that one. :)

Apparently one of our other cats learnt to impersonate the magpies, too. Cats are weird, but fun. :)

lmao, that first one is really funny.

And my parents' cat says, "hello" and all sorts of weird other stuff... One time I was watching her and my best friend was staying over... The cat said my best friend's name, which is Heather. Seriously, haha. Like, ten times, she said "hi, Heather." "Hello, Heather." It was the creepiest shit! Hahaha.
Pardon the French. It really was, though.

I forgot to mention - our cat used to say "milk", too. When we got the milk out of the fridge. :)

I saw the cat vs printer on facebook! So funny, especially when the cat fell off the chair at the end! Ha ha ha ha

It's the expression on its face as well.

I've had cats like that. It's hilarious when they just spaz out at something completely innocuous.

Cat with the printer - kinda like me and the printer at work... the pawing at the paper tray, the tense outline, the expression, priceless :)

Cat with the voice - could have sworn it said "I'm home alone" aww cute. Creepy, but cute!

That's what I'd LIKE to do to our printer at work sometimes. "NO, it is NOT a paper jam, there IS NO PAPER, you idiot machine." *sigh*

The talking cat is very freaky. I think it's a fairly natural thing for them to pick up on their surrounding noises like that (as I said, we had a cat who imitated the magpies) because it would help them interact more effectively with their environment. Still bizarre, though.

We've got one of those printers to, and this very afternoon a colleage at work was ranting at the printer saying just that.

That second cat is doing it because she's old, I think, because our cat Snowy used to get very talkative in similar circumstances - specially early in the morning. She'd get lonely without us and we'd have to come downstairs to find her.

Paws - awwww!!!

The older the cat, also, the more conditioned it probably is to 'talking' to us...

Paws was so named because when we went to our local RSPCA place to pick out a new kitty, we fell in love with him because he was pawing at us through the cage. :) I was probably 7 or 8 at the time so can be forgiven for the unoriginality. ;) (I'd already called a previous kitten "Rosey" for some reason known only to myself. My mum called the other one Rumpleteazer and I suppose I was trying for another "R" name...)

Oh heck, I know; Snowy was not an ironically named black cat, either! But I was three, so... :D
